ChefMate is designed to provide recipe and meal planning features without requiring broad access to personal data.

• We do not require sign-up or login for core functionality.
• We do not collect personal identifiers such as name, phone number, contacts, or address.
• Camera and photo library permissions may be requested only when you explicitly choose media-related features.
• Photos captured or selected in ChefMate are processed locally on your device and are not uploaded to our servers.
• We collect limited, non-personal diagnostic and analytics data to improve app stability and performance.
• In-app purchases are handled by platform providers; we do not process payment details directly.

2. Information We Collect

The categories below describe information handled by the App.

2A. Personal Information

We do not collect personal information such as:

• Name, phone number, or address
• Contact lists
• Precise location data
• Private messages outside your in-app requests

2B. User Content (Recipes, Plans, Camera & Gallery Access)

ChefMate may let you capture a photo with camera or select media from gallery for recipe-related workflows.

• Camera and gallery access are optional and only used when you trigger those actions.
• Media is handled locally on-device and is not collected, stored, or processed on our servers.
• If you do not use camera/gallery features, the App does not access your photos or camera content.
• Exported or shared content is sent only to destinations you explicitly choose (for example, Photos app, Files, or another app).

2C. Analytics & Diagnostics (Non-Personal)

To improve reliability, performance, and user experience, the App collects limited, anonymized data, including:

• Recipe and planner usage events (for example, feature interaction and screen views)
• Crash reports and error logs
• Performance metrics (for example, app launch time and rendering performance)
• Device and operating system information (for example, device model and OS version)
• App version and technical identifiers

2C. Analytics Purpose

This data is collected via Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics and is used solely to:

• Detect and fix crashes
• Improve performance and stability
• Understand general usage patterns

2D. AI Requests

ChefMate may use AI services to generate recipe suggestions and meal-planning responses.

• Your text prompts and related context may be sent to OpenAI API to produce requested outputs.
• We do not use these requests to identify you personally.
• Do not include sensitive personal information in prompts.

2E. Purchase & Subscription Information

If you purchase a subscription or lifetime access:

• Transactions are processed by the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
• Subscription management and entitlement validation may be handled by RevenueCat.
• We may receive limited, non-personal information such as subscription status (active, expired, cancelled), product identifiers, purchase and renewal events, and an anonymized identifier used to manage entitlements.
• We do not receive or store payment card details or billing information.

3. How We Use Information

We use collected information only to:

• Operate and maintain the App
• Improve app performance and stability
• Diagnose crashes and technical issues
• Generate recipe and planning outputs you request
• Validate purchases and unlock paid features
• Respond to support requests (only if you contact us)

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell user data. We may share limited data with trusted third-party service providers strictly for app operation:

• Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics - analytics, crash reporting, and performance monitoring
• OpenAI API - AI-assisted recipe and planning outputs based on your prompts
• RevenueCat - subscription and entitlement management
• These providers process data on our behalf and are contractually required to protect it.

5. Data Retention

• Analytics and crash data is retained only as long as necessary to improve the App and resolve issues.
• Camera and gallery media is not retained by us because it is not uploaded to our servers.

6. Your Choices & Controls

• You can control camera and photo library access at any time through your device's system settings.
• You can choose not to use camera/gallery features and still use core ChefMate functionality.
• Analytics and diagnostics collection may be limited or disabled through platform-level privacy controls, where supported by your device or operating system.

7. Children's Privacy

ChefMate is not intended for children under the age of 13 (or the minimum age required by local law). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

8. Security

We apply reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the limited data processed by the App. However, no method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure.

9. Changes to This Policy
